Who are the oldest players to play in the NBA (and more importantly, which of them were Boston alumni)?

A pair of Celtics alumni clocked in as among the oldest to ever play the game.

Who are the oldest players to play in the NBA — and more importantly, which of them were Boston Celtics alumni? The folks behind the Nonstop YouTube channel recently put together a list of the 10 oldest players to ever take the floor of an NBA game as an active player, and two of them were alumni of the Celtics.

Robert Parish, the NBA’s all-time leader in games played, is known for his longevity and the dedication to yoga and nutrition that helped to make it possible. Parish played until he was 43 years and 254 days old, winning his fourth NBA championship in his final season.

Before him, Bob Cousy, the first-ever superstar point guard, played in the 1950s and retired from the Celtics at 34 but later returned briefly as a Sacramento Kings player-coach, becoming the oldest player in the NBA in that era at 41 years and 150 days.

Check out the clip embedded above to hear how they stuck around so long in such a competitive league.

Kevin Garnett and Joakim Noah on their beef, the NBA of today and tomorrow

The longtime antagonists and the story of how they came to be enemies on the hardwood and talk on the league now and in the future.

Most avid fans of Hall of Fame Boston Celtics big man Kevin Garnett are aware of the animosity between The Big Ticket and longtime Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah, and many recently learned about it with the release of part of the recent interview between the former on-court foes on the Showtime Basketball “KG Certified” podcast.

But the longtime antagonists and the story of how they came to be enemies on the hardwood is not the only thing they had to talk about in their time together chatting up the league of their era.

The pair also get into the league of today as well as tomorrow, with some talk on this season and the imminent arrival of Victor Wembanyama.

To hear their talk in full as they squash their beef now that they have ended their respective playing careers, take a look at the clip embedded above.

Evan Turner and Andre Iguodala on Ja Morant and responsibility

The former Celtics assistant and player sat down with podcast cohost Andre Iguodala to talk about Ja Morant’s gun incidents.

While on its surface, the controversy around star Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant seems fairly straightforward, there are aspects that deserve a second look.

Golden State Warriors veteran wing Andre Iguodala and former Boston Celtics player and assistant coach Evan Turner shared their thoughts on the situation on their “Point Forward” podcast.

The pair discussed the challenges and struggles pro athletes face over the course of their careers, highlighting the importance of understanding the background and experiences of African-American athletes in particular.

Iguodala and Turner also touch on the erasure of African-American history and leaders on the pod more generally and talk about the impact this incident may have on Morant’s legacy.

To hear what Turner and Iguodala had to say about this high-profile mistake and its fallout, take a look at the clip embedded above.

WATCH: Derrick White forces Game 7 with epic shot at the buzzer

Check out Derrick White’s heroic buzzer beater from a Boston Celtics Game 6 victory in the Eastern Conference finals.

The Boston Celtics comeback against the Miami Heat is still alive thanks to a heroic shot by Derrick White. With just moments remaining in Game 6 of the 2023 Eastern Conference finals, White rebounded a missed Marcus Smart 3-pointer, laying the ball in as time expired. It won the Celtics the game and extended the series to a dramatic Game 7.

Boston once trailed 0-3 in the series. Even forcing a sixth game in those circumstances is a rarity in NBA history. And with the game on the line, the Celtics looked to be in command. Jimmy Butler had other plans, lifting the Heat to a one basket lead with just three seconds remaining. Timeout Boston.

Marcus Smart got a good look at a 3-pointer out of the timeout, but it didn’t connect. Instead, it rattled around the rim some. As others boxed out, Derrick White made a read on the ball, flying in for the rebound and laying it in without hesitation. With just tenths of a second remaining, White’s shot put the Celtics back in the lead, securing a victory.

Revisit Derrick White’s heroic shot in Game 6 of the 2023 Eastern Conference finals below, courtesy of the NBA.

PHOTOS-Celtics at Heat: Boston survives Miami 104-103 with miracle Derrick White make

Let’s take a look at some of the best moments captured in images in Game 6 of the East Finals between the Heat and Celtics.

The Boston Celtics showed up with the sort of urgency and intensity one would expect from a top-seeded team facing playoff elimination in Game 6 of their East finals series with the Miami Heat. Miami returned the favor, battling down from several double-digit deficits, but as the game seemed over with Jimmy Butler hitting free throws to put the Heat up with a lead and just 3 seconds remaining saw Derrick White (11 points)  miraculously put in a missed 3 from Marcus Smart (21 points).

A huge game from Jayson Tatum (31 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists) despite 8-of-21 from the floor and 0-of-8 from 3 made the lead-up to that moment, along with a big game from Jaylen Brown (26 points, 10 boards, 2 steals) with help from Robert Williams III (10 points, 7 rebounds).

Let’s take a look at some of the best moments captured in images in Game 6 of the East Finals between the Heat and Celtics.

Is a dominant defense back for the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals?

They are going to need it against this Heat squad if they want a chance at advancing.

From the start of Game 5 of the Boston Celtics‘ Eastern Conference finals series with the Miami Heat, the Celtics made their impact felt on the defensive end of the court. The ball club’s aggressive use of active hands and relentless defensive pressure forced a total of 16 Miami turnovers in the critical contest and created easy offense on the other end.

Is the defensive identity here to stay in what remains of the NBA’s 2023 postseason? Can the Celtics keep up the effort and the focus enough to make history and come back from being down 0-3 in the series? Or will the Heat find a way to get under Boston’s skin on the court once again and send them fishing?

The hosts of the CLNS Media “Garden Report Postgame Show” podcast recently explained why Boston’s defense was so good in Game 5, and why they need to keep it up going into Game 6.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say about the Celtics’ defensive renaissance.

Dee Brown predicts the Boston Celtics will make history vs. the Miami Heat

The former Boston guard believes the Celtics can do the supposedly impossible, but first they need to win Game 6.

Ahead of a Game 6 showdown between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat in the 2023 East finals, Celtics legend Dee Brown, Los Angeles Lakers star Michael Cooper, and CLNS Media founder Nick Gelso talk Brown’s confidence in the Celtics as they gear up to make a historic comeback from being down 0-3. Never accomplished before in NBA history, Brown believes his former team is up to the challenge.

In this conversation, these basketball experts analyze the series and the strategies the Celtics could employ to flip the script against the Heat. Brown, a cherished figure in the Celtics family, donned the green and white from 1991 until he was traded to Toronto by coach Rick Pitino.

His time with the Celtics continues to influence the team’s ethos and tactics today.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what these giants of NBA history had to say about the situation the Celtics of today find themselves in as they teeter on the precipice of making history.

Did Boston’s Joe Mazzulla just have his two best games of the 2023 playoffs?

Throughout the last two games played by the Boston Celtics in the 2023 East finals, Joe Mazzulla has quietly improved his game management.

Throughout the last two games played by the Boston Celtics in the 2023 East finals, Joe Mazzulla has quietly improved his game management against the Miami Heat and their elite head coach Erik Spoelstra.

Mazzulla demonstrated notable improvements in how he has been handling rotation minutes to calling timeouts in the right spots of the game, pulling hurt players off the court before their injury cost the Celtics valuable possessions, and generally looked like the better coach against the very best in the modern NBA. While it is not yet clear he has what it takes to help shepherd Boston out of this round and back to the NBA Finals, it is clear that Mazzulla is a quick learner Boston ought to consider hanging onto regardless of how this season ends.

Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what the hosts of the CLNS Media “Garden Report Postgame Show” podcast had to say about Boston’s coaching in Games 4 and 5 of the ECF.

Is it absurd to think the Boston Celtics might actually win the East finals?

They are now the 15th team in NBA history to force a Game 6 after falling behind three games to none.

Could the Boston Celtics pull off what’s never been done before? The Celtics had their way in a 10-97 win over the Miami Heat in Game 5 of the 2023 Eastern Conference finals and now trail the Heat 3-2 after having gone down 0-3 in the series, a hole no team has ever emerged from victorious.

They are now the 15th team in NBA history to force a Game 6 after falling behind three games to none and have fans and analysts starting to believe that there is actually a chance for the Celtics to break one of the league’s more enduring records over the decades.

Among them are the hosts of the CLNS Media “Garden Report” podcast Bobby Manning and Sherrod Blakely, who made a case of why the pair think it is going to happen.

Check out the clip embedded above to hear why they think that is.
