Every former Auburn player to play in a Super Bowl

From Super Bowl I to the upcoming game on Sunday in Tampa, Auburn has put a lot of former players in the biggest game of the NFL season.

Auburn has a rich and proud tradition of former players playing in the Super Bowl dating back all the way to the first one in January of 1967. Hardly a year goes by without some former Tiger playing in the biggest game of the season.

This year is no exception as both Carlton Davis and Jamel Dean will take the field for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in an attempt to slow down the high-octane Kansas City Chiefs’ offense led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

With that in mind, let’s take a look back and every Auburn player to play in the Super Bowl by decade.

Carlton Davis, Jamel Dean to represent Auburn in Super Bowl

Carlton Davis and Jamel Dean helped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers reach the Super Bowl which they will play against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The best day of the NFL season was Sunday and it was a good one for former Tigers.

Carlton Davis and Jamel Dean helped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Green Bay Packers, 31-26, in the NFC Championship Game and will now play in the Super Bowl on Feb. 7 in Tampa.

While Davis and Dean were victorious, former Auburn defensive lineman Montravius Adams was placed on the injured reserve list by the Packers earlier in the season and was on the losing side.

The Buffalo Bills had former Auburn wideout Duke Willaims on their practice squad. Former Auburn lineman Prince Tega Wanogho is on the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad and ensures at least one former Tiger will end this season with a ring.

With the win, the Buccaneers became the first team in NFL history to play in a Super Bowl they are hosting. The game will take place in Raymond-James Stadium on Feb. 7.
