Experts overwhelmingly pick the Vikings over the Bears

The expert predictions are incredibly one sided

On Sunday afternoon, the Minnesota Vikings take on the Chicago Bears at noon central on Fox.

The game will be the Vikings third home game this season with all three coming against NFC North foes. The Vikings have won four of the last five matchups against the Bears and it looks like it will be five of the last six after Sunday afternoon.

Here is how the experts are picking Sunday’s game between the Vikings and Bears.

Vikings 53-man roster going into Week 5 vs Bears

There have been quite a few changes to the 53-man roster and practice squad this week. Here is the updated Vikings roster

Going into Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears, the Minnesota Vikings are 7.5-point favorites per Tipico Sportsbook.

The game kicks off at noon on Fox and will be the Vikings third home game with all of them coming against NFC North division rivals.

As the Vikings head into the game, there have been some roster moves that need updating. Here is the updated 53-man roster and practice squad heading into Sunday.

Vikings injury report grows by two names

Dantzler takes a step back on the latest injury report

When the initial injury report came out on Wednesday afternoon, it had three players on it: Cameron Dantzler practiced in full with a hip and Andrew Booth Jr. and Za’Darius Smith were both limited with a quad and knee respectively.

After practice on Thursday, the latest injury report was released and it was significantly changed. All three from yesterday were on the list again with Jalen Nailor (hamstring) and Ben Ellefson (groin) joining them.

All five players were limited in practice on Thursday afternoon and this isn’t the most abnormal thing. Players that are nicked up with injuries are often given an easy day during the week.

The one that is concerning is Dantzler. After practicing in full on Wednesday afternoon, he took a step back on Thursday. There isn’t any word whether this step back is a cause for concern but it does need to be monitored throughout the weekend. Friday’s injury report will be telling.

4 keys for the Vikings offense in Week 5 vs Bears

Here are four keys to the Vikings’ offense being successful on Sunday

The Minnesota Vikings offense is still a work in progress but they have come up big when it mattered the most.

Throughout the season, the Vikings have shown elements of being great but haven’t been able to utilize them with any form of consistency.

The Chicago Bears are 2-2 on the season but they aren’t a very talented team which the Vikings can take advantage of in a big way.

Here are four keys for the Vikings offense to take advantage of the Bears defense and get the win on Sunday.

Vikings injury report is nearly all clear

The initial injury report looks pretty clean for the Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings face off against the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon on Fox.

Over the first four weeks of the season, the Vikings have only lost four games due to injury. That will change this week as they lost safety Lewis Cine to a compound fracture in his left leg last Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

One of those games was cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. who has missed the last three games due to a quad injury he suffered against the Green Bay Packers in week one.

The first injury report for week five has the Vikings looking relatively clean.

Booth Jr. being limited in practice is a good sign, as is Za’Darius Smith. Against the Saints, Smith only played 25 snaps as the Vikings staff was really careful with him in coming back from a knee injury.

Cameron Dantzler being on the list is new but it shouldn’t be any kind of concern at this point. He practiced in full and didn’t miss any time against the Saints with an injury.

The report coming tomorrow will give us more clarification.

Fox releases broadcast team for Week 5 Bears vs Vikings

The broadcasting crew for Sunday’s game is set

After spending a week on the NFL Network, the Minnesota Vikings head back to their broadcast home on Fox to play the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon.

The game will be broadcast at noon on fox and, while they didn’t draw the top broadcast team, they did get the third team. Adam Amin, Mark Schlereth and Kristina Pink will be on the call on Sunday.

The duo of Amin and Schlereth has been working together for a few years and Pink was a part of the Thursday night football coverage for Fox.

The Vikings and Bears kick off at noon on Sunday afternoon.

Vikings open up as 7.5-point favorite in Week 5 vs Bears

The Vikings are heavy favorites on Sunday

The Minnesota Vikings opened up as a 7.5-point favorite against the NFC North division rival Chicago Bears per Tipico Sportsbook.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise considering the Vikings are 3-1 on the season and have a lot more talent on the roster.

So far this season, the Vikings are 1-3 against the spread but lost their last two games by 0.5 points each week. That isn’t something that you see too often but it is impressive.

On the other hand, the over has hit in the Vikings’ last two contests with last week’s game hitting the over by 6.5 points.

The Bears enter this game with a surprising 2-2 record and also have a record against the spread of 2-2 with their ATS record matching their overall record.

This past week, Justin Fields had the lowest passing yardage prop ever recorded for a starting NFL quarterback at 145.5. He did hit the over but the Bears have been historically poor at passing the football. They will also likely be missing starting guard Cody Whitehair due to an ankle injury.

The Bears and Vikings kick off on Sunday at noon central.
