Caron Butler: It went from seeing Soulja Boy in the stands, to, I’ll never forget, I just wanted to clear my head. And I can go to a setting and a lot of people are not mature enough to handle their vices. But I can go to a setting, be in a nightclub or something and literally sit there for an hour or two. I’m not a drinker or anything, but I can sit there and listen to music and leave and do my thing. That’s what I would always do. D.C. had a lot of spots that you could just go to. And I’ll never forget, Soulja Boy comes, all this stuff is happening. We go to a spot afterwards, and I’m in there for every bit of 40 minutes. Somebody, they’re like, ‘yo! New Jay-Z diss track of the Wizards!’ And, I’m in there, like, ‘hold on, what the fuck is going on?’ I’m in there. I’m the Wizard. What you doing? This our city and they’re playing the track. I’m like, ‘cut that shit off. This is our city and y’all rocking against us.’ I’ll never forget, I told Taz (Wube) and Marc Barnes, they was the owners, and I remember saying, ‘the Wizards ain’t spending money in here no more. That was disrespect. Y’all gon’ have to come and talk to us about that.’ That was bogus.
