The Arizona Cardinals, because they have a new head coach, can begin their offseason program as early as April 3, per NFL rules.
The team announced its offseason schedule on Friday and the Cardinals will begin Phase 1 of the offseason program on April 11.
They will finish it June 15, giving the players about six weeks off before training camp.
Here are the details:
Arizona Cardinals offseason program dates
- April 11: Offseason program begins (Phase 1)
- April 25-27: Voluntary minicamp for veterans
- May 12-14: Rookie minicamp
- May 22, 24, 25: Week 1 of voluntary OTAs (organized team activities – veterans and rookies)
- May 31-June 2: Week 2 of voluntary OTAs
- June 5-8: Week 3 of voluntary OTAs
- June 13-15: Mandatory minicamp for veterans and rookies
As the Cardinals have a new coaching staff, we likely will see increased participation from veterans in this year’s voluntary part of the offseason. There is a lot of learning to be done and a new culture to forge.
