Cardinals elevate TE Jordan Thomas to active roster

Thomas’ addition will give them three tight ends who can play on Sunday with Maxx Williams injured.

The Arizona Cardinals made a Saturday roster move to add a player to the active roster on the eve of their Week 2 matchup against the Washington Football Team.

With starting tight end Maxx Williams ruled out of Sunday’s game with an ankle injury, the team elevated Jordan Thomas to the active roster.

Adding Thomas will give the Cardinals three tight ends on Sunday to have active. Thomas was one of the Cardinals’ three protected practice squad players this week.

With Williams out, Dan Arnold is expected to start and get extended playing time. Darrell Daniels should also seem more playing time. Thomas might get to play a little.

The Cardinals and Washington kick off at State Farm Stadium at 1:05 p.m. Arizona time on Sunday.
