Call of Duty Warzone: The biggest changes in Season 4

All you need to know about Warzone’s season 4 update.

A new Call of Duty: Warzone update has arrived, which means you’ll need to clear out some hard drive space for another massive download. Activision’s mega-popular battle royale game is entering Season 4, and developer Infinity Ward is making some huge changes to the game to keep things fresh. Here’s a quick rundown of all the things you need to know before dropping into your next match:

Mid-game events

Season 4 adds new Warzone events that can trigger midway through a game and have a dramatic effect on the outcome.

A Jailbreak allows every player who has died up to that point to return to the game, even if you’ve failed to win your Gulag match. (This should hopefully reduce the amount of people who quit games early.)

A Fire Sale reduces the cost of nearly everything at a buy station for a span of 60 seconds (except for loadout drops), and makes teammate buybacks free.

A Supply Chopper spawns a tanky helicopter on the map that players can shoot down to drop valuable loot – but even if you manage to take down the chopper, other players can steal your loot on the ground, so be careful.

Contraband

Contraband is a new special type of contract where you’ll need to deliver a package to a helicopter extraction point. You have a chance to earn a blueprint for completing a contraband contract.

Warzone Rumble

There’s a new mode in Season 4 called Warzone Rumble, which is a 50 vs. 50 team deathmatch style game.

New Weapons

Season 4 introduces the Fennec (SMG), CR-56 Amax (AR), and Renetti (pistol).
