Browns free agent LB Deion Jones visits with the Giants

While Walker and Takitaki return to the Browns, one linebacker may not.

The Cleveland Browns retained two of their linebackers in Anthony Walker Jr. and Sione Takitaki, but it looks like a third will walk. Acquired from the Atlanta Falcons for a late-round pick swap this past season, the limited time Deion Jones spent in Cleveland may be all he gets as he visited with the New York Giants today.

Playing in 11 games for the Browns in 2022, Jones racked up 44 tackles, six tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and an interception. The Browns have not made significant improvements to their linebacker room, but have visited with one of the top linebackers in the 2023 NFL Draft class, Trenton Simpson.

It looks as though the Browns are moving on.
