Bengals’ win over Bills means all 4 AFC North teams make playoffs right now

For now, the entire AFC North goes to the playoffs if they started today.

Don’t look now, but if the NFL playoffs started today, the Cincinnati Bengals would be in the mix as the seventh seed.

And the rest of the AFC North would join them.

In a wild turn of events, after Sunday night’s win over the Buffalo Bills, the AFC North dominates the playoff outlook:

  1. Kansas City (7-2)
  2. Baltimore (7-2)
  3. Jacksonville (6-2)
  4. Miami (6-3)
  5. Pittsburgh (5-3)
  6. Cleveland (5-3)
  7. Cincinnati (5-3)

There’s still a ton of football left to be played, of course, but it just goes to show how stacked the division is this year — and how much that Joe Burrow calf injury hurt the Bengals early in the season.

With the win over Buffalo, the Bengals secured their first AFC win this year and are 1-3 in that regard while 0-2 in the division. That tiebreaker over the Bills will be nice to have, though and they have four games left against divisional opponents and only one game outside of the AFC the rest of the way.
