Entering Week 6, the one-win Cincinnati Bengals are again underdogs.
This time it’s a little different than the week prior though, as the Bengals were understandable underdogs against the contending Baltimore Ravens.
This week the opponent is the 3-2 Indianapolis Colts, a team struggling to find consistency but plenty dangerous if they get hot.
As such, considering this is another road game for the Bengals, it isn’t too shocking to see they’re eight-point underdogs at BetMGM.
But the Bengals are certainly more interesting in an underdog role here than they were against the Ravens. The Colts have cobbled together two wins against bad New York Jets and Minnesota teams while managing to lose to both Jacksonville and Cleveland.
Consistency under center has been a problem again this year for the Colts, this time with Philip Rivers and his four touchdowns and five interceptions. Given how well the Bengals defense has quietly played, it might be a prime opportunity for a “breakout” performance from the unit.
And at this point, Bengals fans have come to trust that Joe Burrow will more often than not put his team in a position to win, especially against a nearly .500 team.
Which is to say the Bengals make for one of the more interesting underdog plays on the entire Week 6 slate.
