Bears fans are worried Matt Nagy is going to ruin Justin Fields

Maybe going back to Andy Dalton, when healthy, isn’t such a bad idea to save Justin Fields from Matt Nagy’s incompetence.

The start of the Justin Fields era was supposed to be cause for celebration. Instead, the Bears offense turned in its worst performance in 40 years in a brutal 26-6 loss to the Browns.

Fields’ first NFL start was even worse than last week when he took over for an injured Andy Dalton in the second half against the Bengals. Fields completed 6-of-20 passes for 68 yards, was sacked nine — that’s right, nine — times and was battered repeatedly behind the offensive line with a game plan that looked tailored for the inactive Dalton.

While Fields wasn’t good in his debut, most of the blame falls on the guy responsible for the game plan in Matt Nagy. Oh, and that’s also the same person responsible for developing him, which has many Bears fans worried beyond belief.

At this point, many Bears fans are even left wanting the team to go back to Dalton when he’s healthy if only to save Fields from Nagy’s horrendous play calling that nearly got him killed by the Browns on Sunday.
