After taking two of three at home from Ole Miss, the Auburn Tigers remain locked at No. 19 in the latest NFCA/USA TODAY Top 25 Coaches Poll.
Auburn kicked off the series by defeating the Rebels, 8-2 on Friday night behind an eight-hit, four-home run night from the Tiger lineup.
“We have to be hitting up and down the order like we did tonight if we want to continue to have success,” head coach [autotag]Mickey Dean[/autotag] said following Friday’s game. “We had production at the top. We had it at the middle. We had it at the bottom. That’s what you like to see. Everyone is doing their job. We want to keep it there.”
Ole Miss’ offense surged to give them the 4-1 win on Saturday, and the Tigers scored just one run in Sunday’s finale to take the series, 1-0.
Auburn (28-10, 6-3 SEC) will jump back into SEC play this Thursday when it travels to Gainesville for a three-game series with No. 15 Florida beginning Thursday night. Florida dropped four places in this week’s poll after dropping two of three games to South Carolina over the weekend. The Gators are looking to win their first SEC series since they took two of three from Missouri during the weekend of March 17-19.
