Arkansas stays undefeated with win over Tulsa

Erynn Barnum’s career-high 27 points led Arkansas past Tulsa on Monday.

Erynn Barnum is ready to take over.

Arkansas’ senior forward from Little Rock, in her final season of college basketball, scored a career-high 27 points to help lead the Razorbacks to a 3-0 start after a 79-70 win over Tulsa on Monday.

Barnum was 10 of 12 from the floor and added eight rebounds, two steals and a block. She was joined in double figures scoring by Makayla Daniels with 19, Samara Spencer with 13 and Rylee Langerman with 10.

Tulsa had taken a brief lead in the third quarter by a point, but Spencer and Maryam Dauda hit back-to-back 3-pointers before the frame finished and Arkansas never trailed again.

Barnum is averaging 20 points a game through her team’s first three. She averaged 7.6 last year in playing just 22 games after dealing with injury.

The Razorbacks have started with three straight wins for the second time in three seasons. They have an opportunity to make it four straight Thursday night when they host Kent State at 7 p.m. from Bud Walton Arena.
