Another report says Bengals won’t do much at NFL trade deadline

Another report with thoughts about the Bengals at the trade deadline.

With the NFL trade deadline looming, yet another report has cautioned fans not to expect much from the Cincinnati Bengals.

This one comes from Pro Football Network’s Adam Caplan, who talked to sources who point to the team’s usual business practices:

What we’re hearing: From talking to league sources about this team, they typically do not look to make trades at the in-season deadline; rather, they tend to let their free agents walk if they decide not to re-sign them or are unable to reach contract agreements and have no problem getting compensatory picks for the future.

Another report before the Bengals beat the 49ers in San Francisco over the weekend also said the Bengals aren’t expected to make any moves.

This isn’t all that shocking given how the team has operated in the past. Still, the idea the team might make a smaller move like getting Samaje Perine back or even getting Hayden Hurst back at a cheap cost is worth talking about.

Alas, that’s two reports making it seem like the Bengals aren’t very active on the phones right now.
