With a 3-2 win over Samford, Alabama softball head coach Patrick Murphy reach an impressive milestone: win No. 1,200 with the Crimson Tide program.
Murphy has coached collegiate softball since 1990 when he started as an assistant for Southwestern Louisiana. In 1996, he joined the Alabama staff as an assistant and was promoted to head coach in 1998.
With six regular season SEC championships, five SEC tournament championships and one national title, Murphy’s one of the best in the nation.
He has an overall record at Alabama of 1,200-335, which amounts to a 78.2% win percentage.
He’s seemingly got plenty of time left to see that number grow, as his recruiting classes have remained consistently strong over the years and he gets the most out of every roster he’s had.
