Aggies drop out of USA TODAY Coaches Poll, AP Poll after 42-24 loss to Mississippi State

Texas A&M is back in the same exact spot that they were last season as they enter the October schedule, dropping to 3-2 after losing to Mississippi State 42-24 in Starkville on Saturday afternoon (26-22 loss at Kyle Field in 2021), staying on road to travel to Tuscaloosa to face the newly named No.1 ranked (AP and USA TODAY Coaches poll) Alabama Crimson in a primetime battle that seems to have lost its luster after being hyped as the “game of the year” mere months ago.

As harsh realities relating to play-calling duties, and the youth-based mistakes in all three phases of the game will be widely discussed throughout the week as the team prepares to face the Tide, making incremental improvements instead of drastic changes needs to be the primary focus, combined with rebuilding confidence in a team that is very a mountain of adversity once again.

The only changes in the Top 5 for both polls were Georgia and Alabama swapping places from No.1 to No.2 after the Bulldogs come from behind 26-22 win on the road against the unranked Missouri Tigers, while Alabama dominated the Arkansas Razorbacks 49-26 in Fayetteville.
