AFC South standings: Titans maintain first-place lead over Colts

The Titans maintained their two-game lead over the Colts with a win on Monday night.

The Tennessee Titans were going to remain in first place no matter the results of Week 6, but with an upset victory over the Buffalo Bills on Monday night, they were able to maintain their two-game lead over the Indianapolis Colts.

The only AFC South team not to win in Week 6 was the Houston Texans, dropping their contest to the Colts, 31-3. The Jacksonville Jaguars finally snapped their historic 20-game losing streak with a win over the Miami Dolphins in London, 23-20.

Here’s a look at how the standings shake out after six weeks:

  1. Tennessee Titans (4-2)
  2. Indianapolis Colts (2-4)
  3. Houston Texans (1-5)
  4. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-5)

The Titans will continue their tough stretch of games with a home contest against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7. The Colts will travel to the west coast to take on the San Francisco 49ers.

Meanwhile, the Texans will travel to the desert to take on the only undefeated team in the NFL, the Arizona Cardinals. The Jaguars won’t be able to lose next week because they’re on a bye.

No matter what happens with the Titans and Colts this coming Sunday, Tennessee will keep its hold on first place. It’s important to note that Tennessee has the advantage in the tie-breaker with a 2-0 divisional record.
