The New England Patriots hope to end a three-game losing streak when they take on the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
There have been bright spots throughout the losing streak, as rookie quarterback Drake Maye continues to develop at a high level. He went 24-of-30 passing for 238 yards, a touchdown and an interception in the team’s heartbreaking 25-24 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 13.
Fresh off a bye week, the Patriots will face a Cardinals team looking to stop a losing streak of their own. They fell to the Seattle Seahawks by a 30-18 margin last week. Quarterback Kyler Murray struggled on the day going 25-of-38 passing for 259 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Running back James Conner did his part on the ground, carrying the ball 18 times for 90 yards while averaging five yards per carry.
This seems like a game that the Patriots could win. The offense has shown some progress in recent weeks, while the defense has struggled. But this could be an opportunity for them to take advantage of a Cardinals team down on its luck after consecutive losses to the Seahawks (twice) and Minnesota Vikings.
These last four games are crucial for the Patriots to build some positive momentum heading into the offseason.
Here’s the full round-up of Patriots Wire staff picks for the Week 15 matchup.
Jordy McElroy (5-8) – Patriots 34, Cardinals 30
Danny Jaillet (6-7) – Patriots 24, Cardinals 27
