Clemson struck first in its rivalry clash with South Carolina after a scoreless opening quarter, as quarterback Cade Klubnik showcased his dual-threat ability with a 14-yard touchdown run.
The scoring drive, which spanned just three plays and 57 yards, was highlighted by a 40-yard pass from Klubnik to Antonio Williams, setting up the Tigers in the red zone. Following a short run by Phil Mafah, Klubnik executed a quarterback draw, reaching the end zone untouched with 12:07 left in the first half.
South Carolina quickly responded, however, with a 25-yard LaNorris Sellers touchdown to even the score. The Tigers’ defense got embarrassed by Sellers on the touchdown run. Now tied at seven, this game looks like anyones to take early.
