With UCLA and USC facing off in a Big Ten showdown and the crosstown rivalry, both programs have questions.
However, USC has more questions given their high expectations and disappointing season thus far.
Trojans Wire site editor Matt Zemek answered a question regarding potential coaching changes.
The question: Are there coaching changes Lincoln Riley has to make for 2025? Here’s Zemek’s answer.
“There’s one which immediately comes to mind: offensive line coach Josh Henson. Riley hired quality defensive assistant coaches, but the offensive line really held the team and the program back in 2024. Henson has failed to land five-star offensive linemen. He failed to bring in elite pieces in the transfer portal for the past two seasons. Unless there are huge recruits or portal prospects ready to come to USC — that would be the only reason to retain him — Henson has to go. Notably, Arkansas Razorback football insiders are unsure if coach Sam Pittman will be retained by the school. Remember that Pittman was an offensive line coach under Kirby Smart at Georgia before he got the Arkansas head coaching job. That has to be Lincoln Riley’s top target for USC offensive line coach if Henson does get fired.”
So far, Zemek pinpoints one coach who needs to go, and others could be moved depending on how the offseason goes.
