John Mobley Jr. continues to explode in Ohio State basketball’s win over Campbell

John Mobley Jr., a freshman for the Ohio State Buckeyes men’s basketball team, has been exploding onto the scene to start the season.

Ohio State basketball has a star on its hands with John Mobley Jr. The four-star recruit committed to Ohio State on October 17, 2022. He signed his letter of intent about a year later and enrolled about a year after that.

Since taking the court this season, Mobley Jr. has arguably been the Buckeyes’ best player, and with unlimited, Stephen Curry-like range, the freshman continues to dazzle.

He put on a show in Ohio State’s win over the Campbell Fighting Camels Friday evening. Ohio State won 106-60, taking a 26-point lead into the half. Mobley Jr. ended with a team-high 23 points and was 8-of-13 from the field.

Better yet, Mobley Jr. was an impressive 5-of-8 from deep, and he was especially electric to start the game.

Mobley Jr., who is from Reynoldsburg, OH, came into the game shooting 57.9% from deep and knocking down 2.8 triples per game. In just 18.8 minutes of action, he had been averaging 13.5 points per game.

The freshman guard has been an instant spark off the bench and helped propel the Buckeyes to another win, ideally getting them back into the top 25 come early next week.

Expect big things still to come from the star guard.
