5th-ranked Texas A&M (8-2, 5-1 SEC) will head to Alabama this weekend to face Auburn (4-6, 1-5 SEC) in a must-win matchup for the Aggies, who are vying for a spot in the SEC Title game and the College Football Playoff.
On Tuesday, it was revealed that the Aggies will stay at No. 15 in the CFP rankings, still needing to win the last two regular-season games to reach the 12-team field. However, this isn’t a surprise, even though A&M’s two losses are to South Carolina (on the road) and Notre Dame, who are both ranked.
Wanting to establish the run to control the ball against Auburn, this week’s everchanging injury report has focused on the status of starting left guard Chase Bisontis, who has missed the last three games due to a lower-body injury.
While Bisontis is slated to return over the next two weeks, sophomore running back Rueben Owens has been slowly but surely making his way back to the active roster after sustaining a torn ACL just a week before the start of the regular season.
On Friday, the newest SEC Availability Report was released, showing that Bisontis has been upgraded from “doubtful” to “questionable,” giving him a 50% chance to play. Owens, who was listed as doubtful throughout the week, is officially Out against Auburn.

Chase Bisontis Update:
While Elko didn’t provide an update on Monday, starting left guard Chase Bisontis likely won’t play against Auburn unless something changes this week. However, Friday’s update gives the sophomore a 50% chance to return to the lineup and bolster the Aggie O-line.
Rueben Owens Update:
This was the most surprising news of the week, as the rumblings regarding Rueben Owen’s return to the active roster after his previous season-ending lower leg injury have come to fruition. After being listed as “doubtful” on Wednesday and Thursday, it’s no surprise that Owens is officially out against the Tigers. However, he might be on track to make his season-debut vs. Texas next Saturday night.
Texas A&M will face Auburn on the road on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 6:30 pm. CT. The game will air on ESPN.
