Nebraska football had the first score of the game against the USC Trojans in a bit of an unorthodox way. The Huskers recorded a pick-six courtesy of Ceyair Wright. The former Trojan halted the opposing drive and gave the Huskers a 7-0 lead following the extra point.
It was Wright’s first pick-six of his career as well as his first interception of the season. It was also Nebraska’s second pick-six of the season. The interception helped Nebraska football set the defensive tone early.
USC was able to answer right back on the ensuing drive, but the interception gave Nebraska a bit of a cushion early on.
Both programs have high-powered offenses. Wright’s interception may prove to be a key point in the game, as both defenses figure to be tested throughout the afternoon. At the very least, he gave himself a homecoming memory to remember.
