Broncos cut pass rusher from injured reserve

The Broncos have waived OLB Ronnie Perkins from injured reserve.

The Denver Broncos have waived pass rusher Ronnie Perkins from injured reserve, via KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis.

Perkins (6-3, 253 pounds) was initially waived by the Broncos with an injury designation in August. After clearing waivers, he reverted to the team’s IR list. Denver has now reached an injury settlement with Perkins and he will be waived from IR to become a free agent.

The NFL’s transaction wire also listed Andrew Farmer as having visited the Broncos on Tuesday. Farmer is set to sign with the team’s practice squad, but that move will not become official until Wednesday.

The fact that Denver is bringing in Farmer to provide depth at outside linebacker might not be a good sign for the status of Baron Browning, who suffered a foot injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. We’ll find out more about Browning’s status following Wednesday’s practice when the Broncos release their first injury report of the week.
