The Florida Gators kick off the 2024 college football campaign at home in the Swamp on Saturday against the Miami Hurricanes in a battle between two Sunshine State rivals.
The Gators are mired in a stretch of three straight seasons with a sub-.500 finish and face one of the toughest schedules in college football this fall. Billy Napier and Co. have made a lot of changes this past offseason and hopefully, it will lead to more success on the field.
The ‘Canes are coming off a 7-6 campaign last year and are ranked No. 19 in the US LBM Coaches Poll entering in 2024. Miami’s 12-13 record since the arrival of Mario Cristobal has fallen well short of his lofty expectations.
Suffice it to say that both teams come in with third-year coaches who have struggled to rebuild their respective programs and really need the Week 1 win.
