Florida enters NET rankings top 30 after road win at Georgia

Good news for the Gators following their Saturday afternoon victory in Athens.

Florida basketball has won seven of its last eight games after prevailing in the rematch with the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens on Saturday afternoon, coming away with an 88-82 victory inside Stegman Coliseum.

As a result of the road win, the Orange and Blue rose to No. 29 overall in the NET rankings. Todd Golden’s team sits between the No. 28 Clemson Tigers and No. 30 Utah State Utes, and it is officially a Quadrant 1 team.

Here’s how the quadrant system breaks things up:

  • Quadrant 1: Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75
  • Quadrant 2: Home 31-75, Neutral 51-100, Away 76-135
  • Quadrant 3: Home 76-160, Neutral 101-200, Away 135-240
  • Quadrant 4: Home 161-353, Neutral 201-353, Away 241-353

The Gators are 3-7 against Quadrant 1 opponents, 3-0 against Quadrant 2 opponents, 8-0 against Quadrant 3 opponents and 4-0 against Quadrant 4 opponents. They hold an 18-7 record overall and an 8-4 mark in Southeastern Conference play.

Florida travels to Tuscaloosa for its next matchup on Wednesday, Feb. 21, against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
