Packers allow perfect passer rating to Bucs QB Baker Mayfield at Lambeau Field

Baker Mayfield completed 78.5 percent of his passes, averaged 13.6 yards per attempt and 17.3 yards per completion and threw four touchdown passes vs. the Packers.

After losses at Lambeau Field during each of the last two seasons, quarterback Baker Mayfield returned to Green Bay on Sunday and was the definition of perfect in leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a 34-20 win over the Packers.

Mayfield completed 22 of 28 passes for 381 yards, four touchdown passes and zero interceptions. His passer rating? A perfect 158.3.

The Packers produced a total of five interceptions and 10 sacks of Mayfield in wins during the 2021 and 2022 seasons, but the veteran quarterback got revenge at the historic stadium on Sunday.

Mayfield completed 78.6 percent of his passes, averaged 13.6 yards per attempt and 17.3 yards per completion. He threw touchdown passes to Mike Evans, Rachaad White, Ko Kieft and David Moore and had completions of 20 or more yards to four different players.

Mayfield destroyed zone coverage and attacked the Packers at every level of the field.

Here’s his passing chart, via Next Gen Stats:

Chris Godwin caught 10 passes for 155 yards, while Evans, White and Moore all had touchdown catches of 19 or more yards, including a 52-yard score by Moore.

Mayfield’s previous career high for passer rating was 151.2. Sunday was his ninth start that he finished with a passer rating of at least 125.5.

Last week, Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week after a nearly perfect performance against the Packers. The same is likely to happen for Mayfield in Week 15.

Coming in, Mayfield had completed less than 50 percent of his passes in each of the Buccaneers last two games.

The Packers will face rookie No. 1 pick Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers next week.
