Oregon prepares for the challenge of containing USC’s MarShawn Lloyd

Oregon’s run defense will be tested.

Our friends at Ducks Wire are on site in Eugene, ready to cover anything and everything about Oregon’s game against USC on Saturday night in Autzen Stadium. You will want to continue to follow Ducks Wire throughout the week for complete coverage of Oregon-USC.

Zachary Neel of Ducks Wire gathered quotes from Oregon coach Dan Lanning leading up to Saturday night’s game in Eugene.

When asked about USC running back MarShawn Lloyd, particularly what makes him so difficult to defend, Lanning said the following, as relayed by Neel:

“He’s a big strong back, he can run, you know, catches the ball well out of the backfield. But um, you know, just in general, it’s a big back. It’s not the kind of guy, you can just thud tackle but you gotta wrap up, it’s going to take a lot of hats to the ball. He rarely goes down on first contact. So it’s going to be a good challenge for us.”
