North Carolina’s nightmare in Atlanta continued on Saturday night as the No. 17 Tar Heels lost their third straight game to Georgia Tech 46-42. After holding a 14-0 lead early and then a 21-7 lead, the Tar Heels’ defense struggled to stop the Yellow Jackets and it turned into a back-and-forth contest.
The Yellow Jackets dominated the second and fourth quarters of the game, scoring 20-plus points in each of those quarters and racking up 200 or more yards in those quarters.
And when the Tar Heels had the chance to march down the field and take the lead, Tez Walker was hit hard after a catch and fumbled. That about did it as UNC had zero answers for Georgia Tech’s offense.
