Thursday’s win is the Lady Vols’ first in six matches. Tennessee entered the match with an 0-2-3 record in its last five contests. Thursday’s victory also ended a two-game losing streak for the Lady Vols.
Tennessee led, 1-0, after Sizzy Lawton scored in the 33rd minute. The match’s first goal was assisted by Sydney Hennessey.
Lawton extended the Lady Vols’ advantage to 2-0 in the 46th minute. Jordan Fusco was credited with the assist on Lawton’s second goal.
Missouri pulled to within, 2-1, after Brianna Buels scored in the 55th minute.
Tennessee’s Macaira Midgley scored a goal in the 59th minute. Lawton recorded an assist on the goal.
Missouri’s Kylee Simmons converted a penalty kick during the 64th minute.
