Alijah Vera Tucker says he will ‘never’ play Broncos on the road again — here’s why

Jets offensive lineman Alijah Vera Tucker has suffered season-ending injuries in Denver in consecutive seasons.

Alijah Vera Tucker says he never wants to play in a game at Empower Field at Mile High again, and it’s hard to blame him.

Last year in Week 7, the offensive lineman suffered a season-ending triceps injury during a 16-9 win over the Broncos on the road. This year in Week 5, Vera Tucker suffered another season-ending injury in Denver, this time tearing his Achilles in a 31-21 win over the Broncos.

After posting a message about his latest injury on his Instagram page, Vera Tucker made this comment on his own post: “Never playing in Denver again.”

Vera Tucker started seven games before his season-ending injury in Denver last year and five games before his season-ending injury this year. He’s going to miss 22 games from 2022-2023 following injuries at the Broncos’ stadium.

There is some good news for Vera Tucker looking ahead to next season. If Denver plays against an AFC East opponent in 2024, it will be on the road.
