The Colorado Buffaloes had a commanding 29-0 lead over Stanford in Boulder on Friday night. The game seemed headed for a 50-point outburst for the Buffs.
However, a couple of hours later and 13 catches, 294 yards and three touchdowns by Cardinal wide receiver Elic Ayomanor, the Buffs were stunned, 46-43, in double overtime.
Colorado’s bowl chances took a massive shot. The Buffs suffered another gut-wrenching defeat and easily the worst loss of the season just a week after Deion Sanders expressed frustration for the way his team played against Arizona State.
