LSU drops in CBS Sports rankings after tight win over Arkansas

The Tigers fell from No. 12 to No. 16 despite the win in Week 4.

The Tigers have been playing better since a season-opening loss to Florida State in Orlando, but they were fortunate to get a win last weekend.

They had to overcome an early 10-point deficit and a back-and-forth second half to survive 34-31 against Arkansas thanks to a Damian Ramos go-ahead field goal with five seconds to play.

LSU has an electric offense, but with some defensive concerns, CBS Sports is dropping the Tigers a few spots in its latest college football rankings. Coach Brian Kelly’s team ranked No. 12 entering the week, but it has now fallen to No. 16.

Georgia remains No. 1 in the CBS rankings, while Alabama, which ranked behind the Tigers last week, jumped them and now ranks No. 14.

LSU will face the No. 19 team in CBS Sports’ rankings this weekend in Ole Miss on the road, so the Tigers will likely be moving back up if the win streak continues.
