Does Deion Sanders have the most to prove among first-year coaches?

Deion Sanders has the most to prove among first-year coaches, says college football writer Sam Cooper. Do you agree?

The Colorado Buffaloes are one of the biggest storylines entering the 2023 college football campaign. With Deion Sanders taking over as head coach and a ton of activity in the transfer portal and recruiting front, nobody truly knows how this will play out.

But, the talent is there and excitement is back in Boulder once again. With the college football season around the corner, Sam Cooper of Yahoo Sports revealed the coaches with the most to prove this season. To little surprise, Coach Prime was on top of the list, and here is some of what Cooper said about the new-look Buffs:

On paper, Colorado’s roster is considerably more talented than it was at this time last year. The Buffs have a pretty nice collection of weapons on offense and two supreme talents in the secondary with Travis Hunter and Cormani McClain. But the offensive line will likely be relying on multiple FCS transfers and there’s a serious lack of depth at quarterback behind Shedeur Sanders. Not to mention, a huge chunk of this roster is made up of players who were backups at other schools. And they’re all coming together over the course of a few months — including summer arrivals.

Sure, the expectations are soaring quickly, and the roster gelling together is a question mark. But Coach Prime worked wonders at Jackson State, and it will be fun to see if he can do something similar at Colorado.
