D1Baseball becomes the latest outlet to honor Irish for his incredible freshman campaign.

The honors just keep coming for freshman [autotag]Ike Irish[/autotag].

Following the season, Irish was named Freshman All-America by three separate outlets. Last week, he picked up his fourth.

D1Baseball dropped their picks for the best freshmen in college baseball for the 2023 season and has named Irish a second-team selection. He joins fellow talented freshmen Cade Kurland of Florida, Malcolm Moore of Stanford, and Dallas Baptist’s Grant Jay on the second team. Other players of note to be named to D1Baseball’s Freshman All-American team are OF Charlie Condon (Georgia), 3B Colby Shelton (Alabama), and DH Jace Laviolette (Texas A&M).

In his debut season with the Tigers, Irish led the team in average (.361), hits (86), and doubles (24). He slugged .546 and had an OPS of .975. He recorded multiple hits in 28 games this season and recorded a season-best four hits in two games.

Irish’s other Freshman All-American honors were awarded by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, Perfect Game, and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
