Travis Kelce finds another opportunity to talk trash to Raiders

Honestly, at this point, I’d be surprised if Travis Kelce didn’t find a way to get his digs in at the Raiders.

I suppose at this point we’d all be surprised if Travis Kelce didn’t take a shot at the Raiders at every possible opportunity. This weekend, he was asked an innocent question about taking part in Patrick Mahomes’ charity golf tournament, and in a rather slick pivot, he reminded everyone that the Chiefs have never lost to the Raiders in Vegas during his time with the team.

“The message right now is we’ve never lost in Vegas,” Kelce says in reference to “The Match” against Steph Curry and Klay Thompson in Las Vegas. “On the golf course, as a team, we beat everybody at Justin Timberlake’s golf tournament. And then obviously the Raiders, haven’t lost to the Raiders yet. I don’t even want to say yet, we just never lost in Vegas and that’s the bottom line.”

He’s not wrong. While Kelce and the Chiefs lost to the Raiders twice in Oakland and once at Arrowhead in 2020 — the infamous bus victory lap game — they are 3-0 in Las Vegas against the Raiders.

Any wins over the Chiefs have been hard to come by for the Raiders in recent years. The Chiefs are 17-3 overall against the Raiders with Kelce in the lineup.

Kelce has been a thorn in the Raiders’ side for the past decade. There is no player over that time that the Raiders defense has had more trouble stopping and he is the measuring stick for every safety and outside linebacker the team has drafted or signed since then.

I suppose with that track record — and a couple of Super Bowl titles, as well — you’ve earned the right to talk some trash pretty much whenever you like. At least until the Raiders can beat him in Vegas.
