Elliot Cadeau to reclassify and join UNC basketball in 2023

Five-star point guard Elliot Cadeau will reclassify to the 2023 class he announced on Tuesday morning.

After months of speculation, five-star point guard Elliot Cadeau has made a decision on his future.

The talented prospect in the 2024 class will no longer stay there and instead join North Carolina as part of the Tar Heels’ 2023 class. The decision comes after a big weekend from Cadeau as he put his stamp on an EYBL session for his AAU team.

The 6-foot-1, 165-pound Cadeau will enroll at North Carolina this June, giving the Tar Heels three commits in the 2023 class. He joins Zayden High and Simeon Wilcher as part of that 2023 class as UNC looks to retool after a disappointing campaign a year ago.

Cadeau is ranked as the No. 1 point guard, the No. 1 player in Missouri and No. 9 player in the 247Sports composite rankings.

He brings another dynamic to the Tar Heels’ backcourt that will feature R.J. Davis, Seth Trimble, Cormac Ryan and Simeon Wilcher.
