Florida State softball pitcher has perfect game, team advances to Super Regionals

No. 3 Florida State will host No. 14 Georgia in Tallahassee in a best of three series.

Florida State’s pitcher, Kathryn Sandercock, made school history when she pitched a perfect game against South Carolina to advance her team to Super Regionals. Sandercock’s perfect game was the first solo perfect game for the Seminoles since Meghan King did it in 2016, against Tulsa. This was Florida State’s first perfect game in the NCAA tournament.

This win against the Gamecocks is the 10th time the Seminoles advanced to Super Regionals. No. 3 Florida State will host No. 14 Georgia in Tallahassee in a best-of-three series. One minute after tickets went on sale for Florida State’s Super Regional game, it sold out. The winner of the Super Regional game will advance to the Women’s College World Series.
