USC in top six for 2024 four-star edge rusher

Caleb Williams and Jordan Addison being from the DMV certainly helped #USC with recruiting in the state of Maryland.

Darien Mayo, a 6-foot-7, 250-pounder from Good Counsel High School in Olney, Maryland, took to Twitter to announce his top six schools. USC was one of the six finalists.

Mayo is ranked No. 17 at the edge position, No. 5 in the state of Maryland, and No. 181 overall on 247Sports’ composite.

Darien Mayo gave his impressions of the Trojan football program: “They were one of the first schools to show me love in this recruiting  process and they continued that. I just love everything out there in L.A., building something special.”

The USC Trojans will contend with Michigan, Clemson, South Carolina, Ohio State, and Maryland as the other teams on Mayo’s top-six list.

The month of June will be a big one for Mayo. He has official visits set up for Clemson (June 2), Ohio State (June 9), USC (June 16), and Michigan (June 23). With Maryland being the home-state school, the Terps will likely get one more visit before he makes any decision.
