LSU already has a blue-chip quarterback committed in the 2024 cycle in Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian prospect [autotag]Colin Hurley[/autotag].
Still, that doesn’t mean the program can’t do its due diligence with other prospects at the position, and one player who the staff has remained in contact with is four-star Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei signal-caller [autotag]Elijah Brown[/autotag].
A four-star prospect who ranks as the No. 45 player nationally per On3 and No. 54 per the 247Sports Composite, Brown plans to trim down his list of schools after a busy spring visit schedule. According to On3’s Chad Simmons, LSU is one of the programs he wants to visit.
Brown said that Arizona State, UCLA, Oregon and USC are the schools communicating with him most in addition to the Tigers. He has no Crystal Ball projections, but the Ducks are the favorite to land him, per On3.
LSU isn’t the only program Brown is looking at with a quarterback commitment in 2024, and he said he isn’t shying away from potential competition. The Tigers will hope to host him this spring and see if they can pull him away from the west coast teams.
