Justin Jefferson wasn’t targeted in the fourth quarter

Not getting your star receiver a target in the fourth quarter is egregious

One of the toughest parts about Sunday’s Wild Card loss to the New York Giants was that Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson wasn’t targeted once in the fourth quarter.

There were multiple reason for that. First off, the Vikings only ran 13 plays in the quarter with one of those being a field goal attempt. The other was that the Giants were bracketing him all game long.

Look, the Vikings should have been prepared for this. Jefferson has been bracketed all season long and they have been dealing with this for a long time. To not even try and scheme up a rub route or get him a manufactured touch in all honesty is a massive disappointment on more levels.

They will look back on the end of Sunday’s game and see too many missed opportunities with this being the most egregious of them all.
