Just four days ago we all watched in horror as Damar Hamlin collapsed on a football field and needed to be resuscitated before being transported off the field and to a hospital.
He suffered from cardiac arrest. Hamlin had to be on a ventilator during his time at the hospital because he couldn’t breathe on his own. Doctors were monitoring his brain activity hoping that he’d show signs of life.
Four days later, Hamlin is getting closer and closer to being discharged. It’s absolutely remarkable.
Hamlin has finally begun speaking on his own and is no longer being intubated. He’s breathing on his own again and even addressing the Bills via Facetime, according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
This is amazing: For the first time, #Bills S Damar Hamlin is addressing the team via Facetime. The breathing tube is out, and he’s spent the morning speaking to various teammates on Facetime. Now, he’s delivering a message to the entire group, I’m told.

The Panthers’ Kenny Robinson, who is friends with Hamlin, also confirmed via Twitter that the Bills’ safety is finally able to speak.

This is truly a miracle. There wasn’t a soul out there who wasn’t thrilled to see this news.
