LeBron James, Lonnie Walker IV won’t play versus Heat

The Lakers will be rather shorthanded on Wednesday when they host the Heat.

The Los Angeles Lakers have already been short-handed while playing without the services of superstar big man Anthony Davis, who has been sidelined with a stress injury in his foot.

LeBron James has stepped up without his first mate, but he will not be available to play on Wednesday against the Miami Heat. He is suffering from a non-COVID-19 illness.

That will create a humongous hole in the Lakers’ lineup. Juan Toscano-Anderson, who recently returned from an ankle injury and has helped them with his defense and energy, will take James’ spot in the starting lineup.

In addition, guard Lonnie Walker IV will miss his third straight game.

Russell Westbrook, who missed the second half on Monday’s win over the Charlotte Hornets, will be available to play.

Los Angeles will certainly need a big game from Westbrook to beat the Heat, who have won nine of their last 13 games.
