Jayson Tatum highlights: Boston Celtics star gets 43 points, 10 boards vs. Pistons

The St. Louis native looked every bit the part of an MVP candidate

Sometimes, the next man up is not quite enough on some nights, and when the rest of the team is falling a bit short, a genuine candidate for the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award will turn on the juice and take over.

On Saturday against the Detroit Pistons, the Boston Celtics faced such a situation: It played without five members of its rotation. Star forward Jayson Tatum responded.

The St. Louis native put up 43 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal and as many blocks in 41 minutes of floor time, shooting a sizzling 14-of-28 from the floor, 7-of-14 from beyond the arc and 8-of-10 from the charity stripe.

If you missed the game on Saturday or just want to bask in the glory of a Jayson Tatum 40-burger, take a look at the clip embedded below to see Taco Jay go off for yourself, courtesy of the Tomasz Kordylewski YouTube Channel.
