On Thursday, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced they were placing kicker Chris Boswell on IR as he continues to work his way back from a groin injury. This means Boswell will miss at least the next four games.
Boswell missed the team’s Week Eight game against the Eagles with the same injury. Nick Sciba filled in for Boswell and hit both of his field goal tries as well as one extra point. Nevertheless, the Steelers released Sciba and added Matthew Wright from the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad to replace him. Wright will be the Steelers kicker for the next four games minimum.
For the season, Boswell is 12-of-16 on his field goal attempts and is a perfect 9-for-9 on extra points in seven games.
