Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander will not return from the groin injury that forced him out of the game on the first drive of Sunday’s showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Packers officially ruled out Alexander to start the second half.
The All-Pro cornerback appeared to injure his groin during a coverage snap on the sixth play from scrimmage.
With Alexander out, the Packers will roll with Eric Stokes and Rasul Douglas as the perimeter cornerbacks and move Keisean Nixon inside to the slot in the nickel.
It’s unclear the severity of the injury in terms of Alexander’s availability past Sunday. Coach Matt LaFleur may be able to provide an update following Sunday’s contest in Tampa Bay.
