There are prolific and special seasons in the WNBA, and then there’s the year that the Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu’s enjoyed. From smaller but still impressive achievements like a country-mile three and a ridiculous buzzer-beater to a historic triple-double that already perfectly summarized her first All-Star campaign — Ionescu has earned the right to flex on her opponents.
The versatile and all-around efficient guard’s latest accomplishment might be her best yet. Better said: It’s one of the most noteworthy achievements in WNBA history. Early during the Liberty’s (-5) matchup with the Mercury on Saturday night, Ionescu became the first WNBA player to score over 500 points, log over 200 rebounds, and record over 200 assists … in one year.
In a word — whoa:
She's done it! đŽ@sabrina_i20 becomes the 1st player in #WNBA history to have 500+ points, 200+ rebounds, and 200+ assists in a single season! đ pic.twitter.com/uE4niOeGJo

It takes consistent excellence to put yourself in the company of active legends like Candace Parker (the only other player ever to rack up 500 points, 200 rebounds, and 150 assists) and then surpass them altogether.
Ionescu’s had a year for the ages. And it’s not even over yet.
