Oklahoma Sooners sit at No. 7 in CBS Sports’ preseason rankings

The Sooners and two other Big 12 teams were in CBS Sports’ preseason top 25, but how did the rest of the conference fare?

The good people at CBS Sports and 247Sports put together their preseason 1 -131 rankings for the 2022 season. With many familiar faces ahead of them, the Oklahoma Sooners are No. 7. That ranking is good — the best in the Big 12.

247Sports and CBS Sports averaged their writers’ rankings to produce the list. Every 2021 Power Five conference champion (plus Cincinnati and Notre Dame) is accounted for in the top 25.

Two more Big 12 teams are in the top 25 behind OU: Baylor at No. 10 and Oklahoma State at No. 13. Just outside the top 25 is Texas at No. 29.
