Former Texas linebacker Malik Jefferson has another opportunity in the NFL.
The 25-year-old has signed a deal with the Dallas Cowboys after a tryout last week. Jefferson told CowdoysSI.com he believes he can make an immediate impact in a Cowboys uniform.
“I’ve been in a few situations in the NFL, but this has a chance to be a special one for me. My full focus is on football. I know some of the guys here already and I think I can contribute.”
Jefferson was a standout on the field during his time at Texas. He played in 33 games in the Burnt Orange from 2015-2017. Jefferson took home All-Big 12 honors twice in his career before turning pro.
The uber-athletic linebacker has bounced around to a few different teams since being selected in the third round of the 2018 NFL draft. Jefferson hopes Dallas is the spot for him to revive his career.
