Who says you can’t go home again?
Notre Dame baseball coach [autotag]Link Jarrett[/autotag] is doing exactly that as the former All-American shortstop at Florida State has accepted an offer to become the head baseball coach for the Seminoles. This comes after a three year stay at Notre Dame that lifted expectations for the Irish and landed the Golden Domers in the most recent College World Series.
It’s hardly a surprise and nobody should be upset over him leaving. Jarrett was born in Tallahassee, played on three Seminoles teams that reached the College World Series, and was twice an All-American shortstop there. Florida State has also played in the NCAA baseball tournament 59 times and reached Omaha 23 times which makes it one of the very best jobs in all of college baseball.
It’s hardly a surprise, nor do I think anyone is at all upset at Notre Dame, but that doesn’t mean this news doesn’t still stink to officially find out.
All the best to Link at Florida State.
Except when he takes on the Irish, anyway.
